Questions when creating a time programme
Are we going to specify times on the time programme or are we going to make use of a flexi time programme?
With specified times each shift/section is defined, including meals/breaks. With a flexi time programme, a certain amount of hours are required daily without defining specific shifts. Breaks can be defined.
Is the employee responsible for clocking for breaks or should the system deduct the hours automatically?
1. If employees need to clock for their breaks, do NOT define the break on the time programme.
A flexi time programme should be used.
If a break is defined, and the employee takes his/her break at another time, the break as defined and the times he/she clocked will be deducted.
The conversion method is set on multiple conversion, for all the clockings to be taken into consideration.
There is a setting: 'Minimum number of clockings required', where the conversion process will be stopped if the employee clocked less than the number defined here.
2. The time programme is set to deduct breaks automatically - this means the employee does not clock out for breaks.
Breaks can be defined on a specified or flexi time programme.
The employees can still clock for breaks, if you want to spot check breaks, but the system will ignore these clock movements.
The conversion method should be set to single conversion, this will only look at the first and last clocking each day.
